mario-kart-8-new-characters Deluxe is the game that just will not stop giving, as Nintendo is still releasing new content for the title even though it launched on the Nintendo Switch way back in 2017. New tracks have been added over the past year, bringing forward some classic tracks from pastmario-kart-8-new-characters Kart titles as well as brand new ones.
Nintendo has even been adding new characters, as Birdo was recently introduced to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after a decade on the sidelines.
After the game’s latest update, it now seems like Nintendo has plans to add five more new characters over the coming months, although which characters they may be is still unknown. First spotted by PadWarrior and shared on Twitter, themario-kart-8-new-characters select screen now has five white question marks underneath
the newly added Birdo. It was suggested at the end of the Wave 4 trailer that more characters will be added in the future, though it was never disclosed how many.
As for who these characters might be, you’d have to assume that a few of them are going to be crossovers of some kind. Outside of maybe Pauline, it feels like the entire Mario cast is represented in some shape or form in the game currently, which opens up the door for some more adventurous additions.
Diddy Kong is a safe bet, what with him being in several Mario sports titles, but it’s always possible we could get some much stranger crossovers with the likes of Link, Isabelle, and the Inklings already in the game.

Whilst there’s only one character to unlock, there’s a bunch of vehicle customisation options that you can unlock by collecting coins. There’s also three new vehicles in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe including two brand new Splatoon vehicles, which are both awesome.
